The Japanese Canadian National Museum (JCNM) was incorporated in 1995 and is under the responsibility of the National Nikkei Museum and Heritage Centre. The JCNM began as a History Preservation Committee in 1981 under the umbrella of the Japanese Canadian Citizens Association of Greater Vancouver.

      of Japanese Canadians;
    • To research and design educational programs;
    • To publish or arrange for publication of materials;
    • To develop and maintain a communications network with multicultural societies; and
    • To hold exhibitions locally and regionally, and to travel across Canada to host museums.
