David Fujino
David Fujino is a sansei actor and poet. Born in Greenwood, British Columbia, he now lives in Toronto. As an actor, David has played uncle Mas in the play, The Plum Tree, for The Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver, and for Concrete Theatre in Edmonton. Recently, he has appeared on television and played Ha Kim in the series, Zoe Busiek: Wild Card. His selected film credits are Tokyo Breakfast, 3 Stories, and Time Warrior. David was active in the 1980s in the early stages of the Japanese-Canadian Redress movement. He has participated in Japanese Canadian community events such as the Powell Street Festival in Vancouver and the artist talk series at the Toronto NAJC “Friendship House”.
His poetry has been published in Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and Japan. David's poetry appeared in the Spring 2004 issue of West Coast Line no.43, Volume 38/1.
