Ottawa Japanese Cultural Centre
2285 St. Laurent Boulevard, Unit B-16
Ottawa, Ontario
A lack of a facility limited the range of activities that the Ottawa Japanese Community Association could undertake. Shortly after the 1988 Japanese Canadian redress settlement, Ottawa was one of the first Japanese Canadian organization to present a proposal to the Japanese Canadian Redress Foundation to establish a cultural centre. With the Foundation’s support and fund raising, the new centre was officially opened in 1991.
