About NAJC - Human Rights Support

The NAJC has actively participated with other minority groups in Canada to uphold the values of democracy and human rights. As the Ukrainian, Chinese and Italian Canadian communities sought redress from the government for past injustices, the NAJC provided advice on negotiation strategies and sent letters of support to the government urging the need for a negotiated settlement.

The NAJC is a strong supporter of aboriginal rights and has actively participated in issues such as redress for victims of residential school abuses, the return of land taken from the Stoney Point band in Ontario under the war Measurers Act and for the rights of Native veterans who were deprived of benefits accorded to other veterans.

The NAJC will be a strong role model in protesting against violations of human rights.
