Roy H. Inouye




Born in Mission City, B.C. and a long-time resident of Kamloops, B.C., Roy Inouye, a nisei, has been president of the Kamloops Japanese Canadian Association (KJCA) and actively involved with the KJCA and the Kamloops Chapter of the NAJC. He was a leading force in the building of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre of Kamloops. He has served as president for the Buddhist Churches of B.C. and Canada. Roy is director of the City of Kamloops Race Relations Committee and Sister City Committee in the twinning arrangement with Uji City, Japan. He was president of the NAJC and a director of the Japanese Canadian Redress Foundation. Roy was awarded the Japan Order of the Rising Sun in May 2002.
