About NAJC - Keiko Miki – President 1998-2004

Keiko Miki (nee: Nishikihama)





Born in Steveston, B.C. Keiko was only three months old when her family was relocated to Minto, an internment centre. After the war the family moved to Winnipeg. Keiko, a nisei, is a registered nurse by profession. Over the years, she has been a board member and president of the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Citizens’ Association and has represented Manitoba on the NAJC Council. She was vice-president, chair of the NAJC Human Rights Committee, president and a director of the Japanese Canadian Redress Foundation. Keiko coordinated the publication of the History of Japanese Canadians in Manitoba. She is active on projects related to cross-cultural approaches to healthy ageing.
